Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus has received messages of support from three popular British celebrities in the run up to the Brighton Fringe Festival opening of their “Guilty Treasures” show this weekend.

Anneka Rice publicly wished Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus the best of luck during her BBC Radio 2 show whilst announcing that she would be recording a special message to be featured during their charity performance. She said she was “very excited to be taking part” in Guilty Treasures, described as a comedy homage to her 80’s TV hit ‘Treasure Hunt’.

Welsh pop star Duffy also recorded a message of support saying “Hello Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus… Good luck singing my song!” after hearing that they would be singing a cover version of her number one hit “Mercy”.

And to complete the hat-trick, soul and R&B diva Beverly Knight tweeted a good luck message to the Chorus, whilst also taking a couple of guesses at what they might find in their search for the ultimate gay song!

Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus are performing Guilty Treasures on 4th and 5th May at 7.30pm in St Nicholas Church just off Dyke Road, Brighton. Tickets cost £12 (£10 conc) and are available via their website www.brightongmc.org, the Brighton Fringe Festival box office or on the door subject to availability.

Funds will be being raised during the shows for Brighton and Hove LGBT Switchboard and the Abandoned and Destitute Children’s Appeal Fund.
